Range Buddy - Shooting Drills6.3.7

Range Buddy is the all-in-one firearms training app for shooters who want better drills, on-video shot scoring, video coaching, a smarter training tracker, and real competition. Connect a shot timer, record and score your shooting on video, break a run down frame by frame, build training regimens, follow standards, and compete in head-to-head duels or group challenges. Browse a drill library sorted by target type, category, and skill focus so you can train with purpose and measure progress over time.

Record, Score, and Share Your Shooting
Hit record and Range Buddy captures your run, then overlays your shot times, splits, and scored hits onto the clip-save to your camera roll and share in seconds. Score against 12 targets including B-8, IPSC, USPSA, IDPA, steel, the FBI QIT and Rangemaster Q quals, and Dot Torture-or free-shoot with no target at all.

Film Studio-Review, Sync, and Compare
Turn range footage into training video. Review a single run, sync multiple camera angles, or compare up to four runs side by side with frame-by-frame stepping. Waveform editing lines up the beep and every shot, captions generate automatically, and exports come out landscape, square, or vertical.

Breakdown-Coach the Video
Markup and annotate on the video. Drop callouts on exact frames, tag steps of the draw, set slow-motion sections, and overlay a skeletal wireframe to show body position through the run. Record a voiceover/picture-in-picture, then export a Coach's Cut-the clean run first, then your analysis with markups, slow motion, and narration baked in.

Performance Lab-Analyze Your Draw
Record or upload a draw and every rep is measured, graded, and replayed with a skeleton overlay. You get one specific thing to fix, plus phase trends over time.

Shot Timer-Bluetooth or Your Phone
Pair a Bluetooth shot timer-AMG Commander, Special Pie, RangeTech, Shooters Global, or Kestrel KST1000-to pull live shot data into your drills and videos. With the Kestrel KST1000, Range Buddy also starts and stops the timer and sets par times from your phone. No timer? Range Buddy detects shots from your phone's mic for live or dry fire, with adjustable sensitivity for quiet trigger presses and shots on screen in real time.

Train From Your Wrist
Pair an Apple Watch or Wear OS smartwatch to start drills, advance steps, and see shots hands-free.

Instructor Marketplace: Post custom training requests and invite reputable instructors to apply directly.

First and Only Virtual Instructor - randomize your training, keep it fun and upbeat.

Version History Kestrel KST1000 shot timer support
Range Buddy now works with the Kestrel KST1000. It reads your shot times live, and it's the first timer Range Buddy can drive both ways — start it, stop it, and set par times right from your phone.
*Fixed a bug that was causing some users to not be able to communicate to and from their Kestrel shot timer.

Breakdown: a wireframe you can actually coach from
The skeletal overlay now sits on the joints instead of near them, and it stays on screen for the whole first playback instead of dropping out partway. It also renders into Coach's Cut exports, so the analysis you see is the analysis you share.

Smoother video work
Scrubbing is steadier in both directions, playback no longer stalls after you switch away and come back, and the picture-in-picture tile renders correctly.

Plus a batch of smaller fixes across Film Studio and Breakdown. 6.3.7 Aug 21 Kestrel KST1000 shot timer support

BREAKDOWN — mark up video like a coach
Open a clip and draw straight on it: arrows, circles, boxes, angles, freehand, even a magnifier for the small stuff. Drop callouts on the exact frame, tag the phases of the draw, and set slow motion on the moments that matter. Record a voiceover — or a picture-in-picture take of yourself — to talk through what you're seeing.

Then export a Coach's Cut: the clean run first, a wipe transition, and your full analysis with markups, slow motion and narration baked in. Sending just the analysis? Turn the opening run off. Multiple camera angles are supported, and the ghost overlay lets you lay one rep over another to compare positions.

PERFORMANCE LAB — pose analysis for your draw
Record or upload a draw and every rep gets measured, graded and replayed with a skeleton overlay, so you can see what your body actually did. Instead of a wall of numbers you get one specific thing to work on, and the Insights tab tracks how your phases trend over time. 6.3.5 Aug 6 Introducing Film Studio—a new way to turn range footage into polished training videos.
• Review a single run, synchronize multiple camera angles, or compare up to four runs.

• Reframe or automatically follow the shooter, generate captions, and add performance statistics.
• Export auto-trimmed landscape, square, and vertical videos ready to share.

Score Video also receives a major review upgrade:
• Clearer hit confirmation with compact, zone-colored markers for previous hits.
• Toggle previous-hit markers, undo or redo edits, and add, move, or delete shots.
• Improved waveform markers, frame-by-frame navigation, review completion, and social-video exports. 6.3.4 Jul 30 Introducing Film Studio—a new way to turn range footage into polished training videos.

-Additional scoring target overlays (Dot Torture, FBI QIT 99, FBI QIT 97, Rangemaster Q, and more). 6.3.0 Jun 24 Fixed a couple bugs related to mic/camera permissions. 6.1.2 Jun 22 We improved the auto scored-video experience:

• Cleaner results, ready to share — a redesigned scoring screen with a new
"Analyzing your drill" loader and a polished, on-brand overlay.

• Your stats, right on the video — draw, best split, average split, and shot
count are now burned into your exported clips. Toggle any of them on or off.

• Frame-by-frame review — step the clip forward or back one frame at a time to
place every hit exactly where it landed.

• Tap-to-jump shot timeline — a zone-colored timeline of your string; tap any
shot to jump straight to it.

Shot Timer
• Microphone access now prompts the moment you open the timer, so it's ready to
hear your shots right away.
• Corrected a couple of navigation icons.

Plus smaller fixes and polish throughout. Thanks for training with Range Buddy! 6.1.1 Jun 19 New in this version:
